Great things to do near the Tally Ho!
There is plenty to enjoy right on our doorstep - here's a taster.
32 mile cycle route from Meeth to Braunton
The Tarka Trail is based on an old railway line, which runs from just outside of Hatherleigh in Meeth, to the north coast of Devon at Braunton, with various stops along the way to enjoy the local sights. There are plenty of places along the route to stop for relaxation and refreshments. At the Tally Ho! we are based right in the middle of two cycle routes. Firstly the Tarka Trail, and national cycle route 27. Our central location provides the perfect stopover for cyclists planning on making the coast to coast journey. We have a secure bike lock-up, and facilities to clean bikes. We also offer amazing breakfasts to start your day, after your stay at the Tally Ho!
Weekly and bi-montly markets
Every Tuesday Hatherleigh holds a market where traders sell local produce, from fruit and vegetables to meats, cheese and baked goods. A small animal and poultry auction is also held in the sheep section of the market. There is also a bi-monthly Ruby market, where traders from all over the Westcountry come to sell their produce.
Beautiful gardens in Great Torrington
Created by Lady Anne Berry, the original garden at RHS Rosemoor is a true plantsman's garden surrounded by woodland. Along side the beautiful gardens, RHS Rosemoor also hosts a number of live events and shows, including performances from artists such as The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain and talks from famous names in the horticulture world.
